Senior Partner

Steve has held accounting positions with some of the most prestigious accounting firms in the State of Kansas for over 40 years. Steve is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant with the Kansas Board of Accountancy. A member of professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kansas Society of CPA's, and the Estate Planning Council of Wichita. Serves on numerous boards of charitable organizations.

Laura Parrish-Coan, EA, ATA, ABA

Managing Partner

Laura has over 25 years of experience as a tax and accounting consultant and serves as our Managing Partner. Her practice areas focus on business taxation and individual taxation with real estate, oil and gas and investment activities. Laura passed the Enrolled Agent exam in 1991. She earned her green-belt in Lean Six-Sigma in 2018. Laura is currently serving on the board of directors for The Public Accountants Association of Kansas.

Liz has been with our firm since 2000 and a Partner since 2013. She manages our west office. Liz graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Liz is a member of the Kansas Public Accountants Association and a Certified QuickBooks Advisor. She is an expert in business and individual taxes. With a natural talent in small business accounting and compliance, Liz is a valuable member of our team. She received her Enrolled Agency certification in November 2018. When Liz isn’t working she enjoys time with her family and 8 grandchildren.

Katherine Sparks, CPA


Kathy has been with our firm since 2007 and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant with the Kansas Board of Accountancy. Kathy is a certified QuickBooks Advisor, has Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting, and Master’s Degree in Accounting from Friends University. Additionally, Kathy founded and directs Lexi’s LAMB Foundation, a local nonprofit which helps children in local hospitals.

Stephen Mardis, JD, CPA


Steve has over 35 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant, as well as being an attorney-at-law. He practices in the corporate and individual income tax area and specializes in automobile dealerships and estates and trusts. A member of professional organizations including the Kansas Society of CPA’s, the Estate Planning Council of Wichita and Kansas Bar Association.

Dee Ann Albert


Dee Ann has assisted our firm during tax season since 2006. In 2011 she became a part-time employee working in bookkeeping and individual tax preparation. She has continued in those roles as well as working with our administration staff. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Wichita State University in 1989. Outside of work Dee Ann is involved in the music department at her church, helps on the family farm and enjoys spending time with family.

Ellen Hittle, EA

Senior Accountant

Ellen joined our firm the summer of 2015, bringing with her over 30 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation. She has worked primarily in public accounting, focusing on business and individual tax preparation, financial statement preparation, payroll and sales tax. Ellen has been an Enrolled Agent with the IRS since 1992 and is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor as well as a Notary Public. She spends her leisure time as an active member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America and enjoys cross stitch and quilting.

Jacy Zimmerman, EA

Senior Accountant

Jacy began as an intern during the 2014 tax season. She prepares individual and business tax returns, as well as, performs bookkeeping services. Jacy graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from Wichita State University in the fall of 2014, and passed the Enrolled Agent exam in May of 2018.

Ruth Clark


Ruth has been with our firm since 2008. She specializes in multi-state payrolls, payroll reporting and multi-state sales tax filings. She also does bookkeeping and tax preparation for clients and has become very familiar with Employee Retention Tax Credits. Ruth received her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Wichita State University in 2013. Ruth plans to study and sit for the EA exam in the near future. Ruth is a member of the Kansas Public Accountants Association and a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. In her time away from work she loves spending time with her husband and three daughters. Once her children are older, Ruth hopes to resume volunteering abroad with mission trips.

Carrie Engels


Carrie joined our firm in 2013. She prepares payroll, individual and business tax returns for clients, as well as performs bookkeeping services. Carrie earned her Master’s Degree in Accounting through Friends University in May of 2017. Carrie enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 2 boys.

Shonda Turner


Shonda joined our firm in September 2019. She was a business owner for 25 years where she managed the day to day operations as well as completing all accounting and tax duties. She works on client accounting and assists in individual tax return preparation. Shonda enjoys spending time with her husband and family at their cabin on the lake in her free time.

Penny Rader

Client Coordinator

Penny joined our firm in 2006. She has more than 30 years of customer service experience and more than 20 years’ experience editing newsletters. Penny provides all types of office assistance, edits the Criser + Gough + Parrish newsletter, and manages the firm’s social media. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching movies, crocheting hats & scarves for charity, and volunteering for Lexi's LAMB Foundation, a local organization founded in memory of her granddaughter, Lexi, which helps children in local hospitals.

Nick Meyer

Senior Accountant

Nick joined our firm in October 2021, bringing with him 8 years of experience in public and private accounting. Nick prepares individual and business returns, and financial statements for our clients. Nick received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Fort Hays State University in 2015 and is a member of the Public Accountants Association of Kansas. Nick is currently studying for the EA exam and hopes to become an Enrolled Agent in the near future. In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids, often camping or fishing. Nick likes to be outdoors and do “hands on” projects around the house.

Brody Jobbins


Brody started with CGP in February 2019 as a tax season intern. Brody prepares payroll and individual income tax returns, as well as performs bookkeeping services for our clients. Brody earned his Bachelors in Accounting from Wichita State University in December 2021 and is currently working towards his CPA certification. Outside of work, Brody is an avid sports fan and can often be found playing basketball, watching sports, or spending time with his friends and family.

Shuree Graham


Shuree joined CGP in August 2021 as part of our support team for clients and staff. Shuree has many years of customer service experience and helped us transition into our current office space. Outside of work, Shuree and her family spend a lot of time at softball fields and volleyball courts for her children’s sports activities, and can be found at the pool or lake during a break in the seasons. Shuree also enjoys watching and identifying the wildlife in her backyard, especially the birds.

Victoria Albert

Human Resources

Victoria joined our firm in April 2022, bringing with her several years of human resources experience in various industries. Victoria supports our staff and internal activities with human resources insight. Victoria received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Wichita State University in May 2021 and is part of the national and the Wichita Society for Human Resources Management and the local chapter of the American Payroll Association. In her free time, Victoria can be found spending time with her large family, volunteering in the community, singing in her church choir, or helping on the family farm.

Grace Smith


Grace started with our firm in February 2022 as a tax season intern. Grace prepares payroll and performs bookkeeping services for our clients. Grace will graduate with her Bachelors in Accounting in December of 2022. Outside of work, Grace enjoys serving others through her involvement in various church ministries and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.

Chelsea Griffith


Chelsea joined CGP in May 2022 to support our clients and staff. Chelsea came to us from a customer service background which she has put to excellent use in taking care of our clients. Chelsea holds an associate degree in Liberal Studies in Science. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys indoor gardening, oil painting, volunteering in the community and spending time with her loved ones.

Starla Criser

Community Relations

Starla represents CGP Group as they support Wichita’s community. She serves on the Linwood Senior Center Advisory Council, teaches and mentors senior adults interested in writing at both the Linwood Senior Center and the Downtown Senior Center, and coordinates the SECA (Seniors Exploring Cultural Arts) group at the Downtown Senior Center. She is also a member of Botanica the Wichita Gardens, the Sedgwick County Zoo, and the Adventurous Babes Society in Wichita.

Music Theatre of Wichita: Produces the finest musical theatre in the community and region and has a longstanding commitment to local teens.
